Why do I need a follow up nutritionist appointment?
Tired of Being Told Your Results Are Normal When You Still Feel Unwell?

Standard reference ranges on blood tests are designed to identify disease, not to assess optimal function. Many women receive pathology results that fall within the "normal" range but are still experiencing significant symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, hair thinning, digestive issues, or hormonal changes.

"My GP said everything is fine, but I still feel exhausted every day. I just want someone to actually look at my results properly and explain what is going on."

This appointment is designed for exactly that situation. It is also suited to clients who have completed functional testing and want a dedicated session to understand their results in detail.

Please note: this appointment requires an initial consultation to have been completed first, so your health history is already understood in context.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need an initial consultation before a pathology interpretation appointment?

An initial consultation is required before a pathology interpretation appointment at Perth Nutrition and Natural Health Clinic because pathology results cannot be accurately interpreted in isolation. To understand what your results mean for your health, Renae needs a thorough understanding of your full health history, current symptoms, medications, supplements, diet, and lifestyle factors that may be influencing those results.

Without this context, a result that appears borderline or concerning on paper may have a completely different clinical significance for your individual situation. The initial consultation provides the foundation that makes your pathology interpretation appointment as accurate, relevant, and useful as possible. It ensures that every recommendation and plan developed from your results is tailored to you, not applied generically.

Can I use a pathology interpretation appointment to review results from another practitioner?

Yes. If you have received blood test results, hormone panels, thyroid panels, food intolerance testing, nutrigenomic results, or other pathology from a GP, specialist, or another healthcare practitioner and would like a clinical nutritional interpretation alongside a personalised treatment plan, the pathology interpretation appointment is appropriate for that.

Many clients come to Perth Nutrition and Natural Health Clinic after receiving results elsewhere that they were told were normal, but they were never explained in detail or connected to their symptoms. This appointment provides a thorough review of what your results actually mean, interpreted against functional reference ranges rather than standard lab ranges alone, with a clear nutrition and supplement plan built around your findings.

An initial consultation is still required before this appointment so that your results can be reviewed in the full context of your health history.

What is the difference between a pathology interpretation appointment and a GI Map Results Consultation?

The GI Map Results Consultation is a dedicated 60-minute appointment specifically for interpreting GI Map stool analysis findings. Because GI Map results are extensive and contain a high level of clinical detail across gut microbiome, pathogens, digestive function, inflammation, and intestinal permeability markers, a dedicated appointment is required to cover every finding thoroughly. The GI Map Results Consultation also includes a written report of findings. This appointment is booked separately and is also included as part of the GI Map Health Package.

The pathology interpretation appointment covers a broader range of testing including standard blood panels, iron studies, thyroid markers including T3, T4, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies, nutrient levels, hormone panels reviewed outside of DUTCH testing, food intolerance results, and other functional or general pathology. Similarly, DUTCH hormone testing results have their own dedicated results appointment due to the depth and complexity of the findings.

If you have completed both GI Map testing and general pathology, or both DUTCH hormone testing and general blood work, separate appointments would be required to cover each set of results properly. This ensures that every marker is given the clinical attention it deserves rather than being rushed through a single session.

Will I receive a treatment plan from a pathology interpretation appointment?

Yes. The pathology interpretation appointment at Perth Nutrition and Natural Health Clinic includes a personalised nutritional plan and supplement recommendations built directly around your results. Every finding is explained in clear, plain language and connected to your symptoms and health history, so you leave the appointment with a thorough understanding of what your results mean and a concrete plan for addressing them.

Rather than simply being told a result is normal, low, or high, Renae interprets each marker in the context of your full clinical picture, identifies patterns and imbalances that require support, and builds a targeted plan around those specific findings. Where additional testing may be beneficial to investigate further, referrals and recommendations for next steps are also included.
