Real Answers for Your
Child's Gut Health

For children and teenagers dealing with gut symptoms, food intolerances, skin conditions, or digestive discomfort. A gentle, thorough approach with a personalised plan built around your child's health history and daily life.

$170 (60 minutes)

Tired of being told your child will grow out of it?

Many parents arrive at the clinic after months or years of seeking answers for their child. They have seen multiple practitioners, tried dietary changes, and still do not have a clear explanation for what is driving their child's symptoms. They are often told it is normal, that their child will grow out of it, or that nothing further needs to be investigated.

This appointment is designed for families who are ready for a more thorough approach. One that actually looks at what is going on, connects the dots, and gives you a clear, practical plan to follow.

This is exactly what the children's initial consultation does.
"I just want someone to take my child's symptoms seriously and actually investigate what is driving them, rather than telling us to wait and see."
Common reasons parents bring their child to the clinic

Children and teenagers rarely present with just one isolated concern. Most are experiencing a combination of symptoms that have developed over time, often affecting multiple systems in the body.

Chronic constipation or loose stools that do not respond to dietary fibre or fluids

Ongoing bloating, tummy pain, or abdominal discomfort

Food intolerances or reactions to multiple foods

Eczema, skin rashes, or recurring hives with suspected gut involvement

Fussy eating, limited food variety, or restricted intake

Fatigue, low energy, or difficulty concentrating

Behavioural changes linked to gut discomfort or food reactions

Gut symptoms that started after a course of antibiotics or a gut infection

IBS-type symptoms without further investigation into the root cause

What to expect at your child's initial appointment

The children's initial consultation covers your child's full health history from the very beginning, including birth history, early feeding, antibiotic use, and how symptoms have developed over time.

This context matters as it shapes how results are interpreted and how the nutrition treatment plan is structured.

At the end of the appointment, you will receive a personalised nutrition and supplement plan that is practical, realistic, and achievable for children and family life.

Recommendations are always tailored to your child's age, stage, and individual needs.

My approach to your child's health is gentle, practical & built around your child's health

Children are not small adults. Their gut health, immune system, and nutritional needs are different, and the approach to supporting them needs to reflect that. Treatment plans for children are designed to be gentle, sustainable, and realistic for family life, not restrictive, overwhelming, or difficult to implement.

Rather than applying a generic protocol, every recommendation is based on your child's individual history, symptoms, and test results. The goal is to identify the root cause of what is driving their symptoms, address it directly, and build long-term gut health that supports their development and wellbeing.

Where functional testing is recommended, including GI Map stool analysis or food intolerance testing, the process is simple and can be completed at home. Test kits are posted directly to your address anywhere in Australia.

What age children do you see?

The children's initial consultation is suitable for children from toddler age through to teenagers. For younger children, parents attend and provide the health history. For older children and teenagers, they are encouraged to be part of the conversation where appropriate, as their own understanding of their symptoms and how food affects them is a valuable part of the clinical picture.

If your child is a teenager and their presentation is more complex, including hormonal concerns, skin conditions, or a combination of gut and mood-related symptoms, the Initial Complex consultation may be more appropriate to allow more time for a thorough assessment.

CLIENT EXPERIENCES

Real results from real people

" Renae is very lovely and so helpful. My son has made real progress with healing his gut, and we have seen a definite reduction in the amount of hives reactions he is having - and hope that this will continue to reduce as

his gut continues to be healed.

The GI map test was very helpful, and Renae ably explained exactly how the different results were impacting on my son and how to help him heal."

COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT NUTRITION APPOINTMENTS

Frequently asked questions

What age children do you see?

The children's initial consultation is suitable for children from toddler age through to teenagers. Renae tailors her approach to your child's age, developmental stage, and individual presentation. For teenagers with more complex concerns, the Initial Complex consultation may be more appropriate.

Does my child need to attend the appointment?

Yes, you can bring your child to the appointment. For older children and teenagers, attending the appointment is encouraged where appropriate. Online consultations are available, which can make attendance easier for families.

What should I bring to my child's appointment?

Bring any recent blood test results, specialist reports, or previous pathology. A note of your child's current medications and supplements, and a general idea of their typical daily diet and bowel habits will help Renae cover as much ground as possible in the appointment. It is always recommended to email any results prior to the appointment to allow your nutritionist time to fully review the results before attending.

Is GI Map testing available for children?

Yes. GI Map stool testing can be adapted for children and is one of the most useful tools for identifying what is driving ongoing gut symptoms, food sensitivities, constipation, and skin conditions with a suspected gut connection. The test kit is completed at home and posted to the lab. An initial consultation is required before ordering.

Will the plan be realistic for a child?

Yes. All recommendations are tailored to your child's age, food preferences, and family life. Renae understands that overly restrictive or complicated protocols are not realistic for children or busy families. The goal is always a plan that is achievable, sustainable, and appropriate for your child's stage of development.

Are online consultations available for children's appointments?

Yes. Online consultations are available for families across Australia and are just as thorough as in-clinic appointments. Functional test kits including GI Map stool analysis can be posted directly to you wherever you are in Australia.
