Why you need a GI Map results appointment
A GI Map result is only as useful as the plan built around it
Many people complete functional testing and receive results without the clinical support to understand what they mean or how to act on them. This appointment closes that gap.
Rather than interpreting your results in isolation, your findings are assessed alongside everything known about your health from your initial consultation. This allows for an accurate interpretation and a treatment plan that addresses the right things first.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
What happens at a GI Map results appointment?
At your GI Map Results Consultation at Perth Nutrition and Natural Health Clinic, Renae walks through every marker in your GI Map stool analysis in plain language. Each finding is explained clearly, connected to your symptoms and health history, and translated into a concrete plan. You will leave with a thorough understanding of what your results mean, a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan, a targeted supplement protocol based on your specific findings, and a written report of findings to refer back to throughout your treatment.

How long is the GI Map results appointment?
The GI Map Results Consultation runs for 60 minutes. This allows enough time to cover every marker in your results thoroughly, explain what each finding means in the context of your symptoms, and build a personalised treatment plan around your specific results. A written report of findings is also included with this appointment.

Do I need an initial consultation before my GI Map results appointment?
Yes. An initial consultation is required before completing GI Map testing at Perth Nutrition and Natural Health Clinic. This ensures your results are interpreted alongside your full health history, symptoms, medications, and lifestyle rather than in isolation. Results reviewed without this context can be misleading and lead to treatment decisions that do not address the right things.

Will I receive a treatment plan at my GI Map results appointment?
Yes. Your GI Map Results Consultation includes a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan and a targeted supplement protocol built directly around your findings. Rather than applying a generic gut health protocol, every recommendation is based on what your specific results show. A written report of findings is also included so you have a clear reference document throughout your treatment.

What is included in the written report of findings?
The written report of findings summarises the key markers from your GI Map results, explains their clinical significance in plain language. It is designed to be a clear and practical reference document you can return to throughout your treatment rather than a technical report full of jargon.

What is the difference between the GI Map results appointment and a pathology interpretation appointment?
The GI Map Results Consultation is a dedicated 60-minute appointment specifically for interpreting GI Map stool analysis findings. Because GI Map results are extensive and clinically detailed, they require their own dedicated session. The pathology interpretation appointment covers a broader range of testing including standard blood panels, iron studies, thyroid markers, nutrient levels, and food intolerance results. DUTCH hormone testing results also have their own dedicated results appointment. If you have completed GI Map testing alongside general blood work, separate appointments are required to cover each set of results properly.

What if my GI Map results show something that needs medical attention?
Any findings that require medical attention or further investigation are flagged clearly during your results consultation. You will receive guidance on next steps and a referral to your GP or a specialist if needed. The GI Map is a clinical tool and findings are always interpreted with the appropriate level of care. Certain markers such as persistently elevated Calprotectin or the presence of specific pathogens may warrant follow-up with a gastroenterologist, and Renae will advise you clearly if this is the case.
